Troubleshooting and glossary

Quick solutions to the most common situations, and a glossary of the terms used in this manual.

Common problems

The device shows no IP address at boot

Your network probably does not hand out addresses automatically. Follow chapter 5 to give it a fixed address.

I cannot connect over SSH

Check that the network cable is in the eth0 port, that the IP address is correct, and that the username and password are correct; the computer must be on the same network as the Raspberry.

The interface will not open in the browser

Confirm the device is powered on, that you type the correct address (with «:3000» at the end), and that your computer is on the same network.

«SRT input detected» does not appear

Check that the source signal address is correct and that the source is transmitting. The device retries the connection automatically. Occasionally, after a reboot or a power cycle, the Gateway takes a bit of time to start because it runs a self-check; be patient — once loaded, stream playback is fast.

There is no multicast distribution

Check the USB-Ethernet adapter and the cable in the eth1 port, and review the LAN configuration (chapter 10). Reboot the device if needed.

The video looks pixelated or frozen

This is usually a problem with the source signal or the network (internet or local network). Check the Network section of the panel. Verify the available bandwidth and the network quality of service.

A licensing notice appears

The device needs an active license. Contact your provider (chapter 8).
