SRT & HLS to every in-room TV
Bring the channel lineup into the property over SRT or HLS and deliver it as UDP or HLS to in-room TVs and middleware — one affordable appliance per hotel, managed from the cloud.
The problem
The lineup comes in over IP — the rooms need UDP or HLS
Hotels increasingly receive their channel lineup over the internet via SRT or HLS, but in-room TV systems, middleware and set-top boxes expect UDP or HLS on the property network. Bridging that with traditional broadcast hardware is expensive and hard to run across many sites.
SRT Gateway by CEF does it with one small, low-cost appliance per property: it takes the SRT or HLS lineup and delivers clean UDP or HLS to the rooms — reliably, 24/7 — and every hotel is managed from the same cloud panel.
Architecture
From an IP lineup to the in-room TV
Why hotels choose it
Reliable in-room TV, at the cost of a rack appliance
One appliance per property
A small, low-cost gateway sits in the rack and turns the incoming lineup into the UDP or HLS your in-room system expects.
Guests never see a dead channel
Automatic failover and email alerts keep the lineup on screen and tell your team the moment a channel drops.
Every hotel from one panel
Roll out to many properties and monitor, configure and update them all remotely from one cloud dashboard.
FAQ
Hospitality questions
How does the channel lineup reach the in-room TVs?
The gateway receives the lineup over SRT (caller mode) or HLS and republishes it as UDP — unicast or multicast — or as HLS, ready for your in-room TVs, middleware or casting system on the property network.
UDP or HLS to the rooms — which do I use?
Both are supported. Use UDP multicast for classic in-room TV / set-top box systems, or HLS for app-based and smart-TV platforms. You can output both at once.
Can I manage many hotels centrally?
Yes. Every gateway reports to one cloud panel, so a single team can see status, change configuration and push updates across the whole estate. Each device is licensed individually.
